Day 7, February 7th, Bridgetown, Barbados

It’s cloudy with a threat of showers, a threat that was soon to come true.  This is a view from our cabin after docking in Bridgetown.

We had a light breakfast at the Waves Grill and then it was off to visit Bridgetown.

We thought we would walk about 1.5 miles into town but we didn’t count on the weather taking a wet turn.  We followed the green path through the terminal, . . .

. . . past all the shops and the tourists looking for treasures to take home.

At the exit, as we rushed past those who wanted us to take a taxi to somewhere, anywhere, on the island, we bounded down the steps heading for town.  About 50 yards from the terminal we felt the beginning of a shower, and the sky up ahead did not look promising.  We just made it back before the deluge (okay, so maybe I’m exaggerating a little)began.  We followed the green line back to the ship where we camped out for the day.  Its no fun walking around a town dripping wet.

JoAnn, over lunch, suggested we send a couple of postcards, like the good old days (remember postcards), as that would be a good way to share a view of Bridgetown and Barbados.  So here goes, postcards from Barbados (and we saved the stamps):

Well, our day in Barbados wasn’t what we expected but Mother Nature doesn’t alway cooperate.

We were on this cruise and took the Silver Moon catamaran. Only had a 10 min rainfall for the entire time. We could see the black clouds hanging over the port. Great pictures and wonderful cruise.
