Vancouver to San Diego and South, October 15, 2019

After two nights in Vancouver we boarded the Holland America Eurodam for a trip down the west coast.

We are scheduled to visit Santa Barbara on Friday and San Diego on Saturday. Then we are sailing to the Mexican Riviera with stops at Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta.

We really enjoyed our brief stay in Vancouver. The city is lovely and the people are very nice. We checked out of the Pan Pacific around 11am and walked over to the ship. The hotel transferred our luggage to the ship as a courtesy. That was very convenient and a real luxury.

After embarking, which was really easy, we went to the dinning room for lunch followed by a stroll around the ship. JoAnn and I had sailed on the Eurodam previously and it was our pleasure to introduce it to Jimmy and Barbara.

After the lifeboat drill, which is a mandatory event and very necessary, we went to the Tamarind Lounge for a sail away cocktail. The lounge overlooks the covered pool and the sea and is a great place for sailing. But was it ever crowded; a lot of passengers obviously had the same idea as we did.

Dinner was in the dining room and was very nice. Our table, number 9, is near the entrance to the second level of the room and is quite and well served. We enjoyed diner and then it was off to our cabins to get ready for two days at sea.

I will cover the Eurodam in a subsequent post.

I’m on the boat with you! Oh yes the sail away cocktail is a must – it just starts things off onthe right sail. Enjoy special times with special friends to share PERFECT. Kn
