On Board the Sky Princess, January 27, 2020, our cabin and the outside decks

Today is a sea day as we make our way down to St. Thomas. The weather is terrific, We are sitting in the Horizon Bistro and Marketplace on deck 16. If I wasn’t writing this post I would be mesmerized staring at the blue water floating by.

I am very impressed with this newest ship in the Princess line. We have sailed on a number of Princess ships going all the way back to the late 1980s so we have lots to compare to. I think this ship is lovely. Lots of light colors and bright, sunlit areas. Hopefully my photos will reflect that.

Let me start with a couple of photos of our stateroom, 408, a mini suite on Baja Deck. The tan colors are prevalent through the ship.

I started taking photos our first day on board. Started in the Sanctuary on deck 18 in the front/bow of the ship. It is a restricted area for sun (or shade if you are lucky) bathing. Waiter service exists for your every need. It is not terribly pricey if all you want is a lounge chair ($20.00/per person on port days for 1/2 day) but the cost of a cabana is about $140.00 for the same time period. By the time we got to the Sanctuary, at 11:50 am on Saturday, there were almost no lounges left for the entire trip. Have a look.

Then, we started at the stern on deck 19 at the mini-golf. The shadow is the large “golf ball.” The area really is “mini.”

When discussing the stern, let’s have a glimpse of the Wake View Pool on deck 16?

Then on to the basketball/multipurpose area on deck 18.

Next came the main pool area on deck 16.

Here is another shot from the other end showing the pool and large screen where pictures under the stars are shown. During the day they play recorded concerts and, in the afternoon, movies.

This is the Retreat pool, on deck 17, which is only for adults.

More to come. Just not at this vey moment. See you soon around the ship.

Thanks for your comment. I enjoyed reading it and hope I have convinced you to try sailing on a ferry or a cruise ship. It is a great way to see the world. You can sit on a “Titanic chair” (one of those wooden chaise lounges) overlooking the ocean and imagine 1,000 and 1 adventures or just fall asleep. It’s wonderful. Thanks Pedro.

eheh I just started to imagine that… Also i believe that one of the most beautiful ways to arrive in a city is by cruise… The city getting closer and closer… Have a wonderful week 🙂 PedroL
