Discovering the Beauty of Amber Cove, Grand Turk, February 4, 2026

Weather, what can I say but lousy, overcast at best with one exception, February 4th.   Today was sunny and warm and breezy.  After a light lunch, with the mandatory glass of wine (that’s right, Captain’s orders that all lunch comes with wine and the servers are told that we couldn’t leave the restaurant until all was consumed), we strolled over to Amber Cove on Grand Turk.

Sign displaying 'AMBER COVE!' in bold letters with a cruise ship in the background, featuring cloudy skies.

The place was extremely clean and well maintained.  Also, very photogenic.  Here are a couple of shots I took as we were walking along the pier into the Cove.

A scenic beach view featuring palm trees, sandy shore, and colorful boats. People are lounging on chairs near the water, surrounded by lush greenery.
Rocky shoreline with calm water in the foreground, overlooking a green area with low buildings and palm trees under a cloudy sky.
A view of colorful thatched-roof cabins on stilts over water, surrounded by lush green hills and palm trees under a cloudy sky.
A sunny beach scene with people swimming and sunbathing by the water, surrounded by palm trees and colorful beachfront buildings.

And, one brave soul testing the waters.

A person standing in shallow water on a beach, surrounded by rocks and clear blue ocean under a sunny sky.

An interesting fact, or so I think, Amber Cove is actually a place known as Le Espanola according to Apple Maps.  But, as the bards once said, “what’s in a name?”

There is a nice shopping center just off the pier.  Now you don’t have to go into town (wherever that is) to spend your money.  Have a look.

A vibrant outdoor shopping area with people walking on a paved path, surrounded by tropical greenery and colorful colonial-style buildings under a cloudy sky.

I thought this was a fun shot.  Something different to take home.

A variety of colorful wooden figurines displayed on a table, featuring animals and human figures, with a blurred background of people at an outdoor market.

We came upon a Heart of Flamingos where a kind soul offered to take our photo.

A couple sitting on a bench shaped like two flamingos, surrounded by palm trees and a beach view in the background.

Here are a couple of other shots of the area.  All in all, it was a very nice port of call.

A vibrant pool scene featuring people relaxing in and around a large, clear blue swimming pool, with palm trees and cabanas in the background under a sunny sky.
A large cruise ship docked at a pier beside a sandy beach, with people walking along the shore and enjoying the turquoise water.
Colorful sculpture of a horned, stylized creature's head with a wide grin, set in a public area with people walking in the background.

And last but not least.  Don’t miss the fish in the water.

A serene garden scene featuring a small wooden bridge crossing over a pond filled with fish, with a rocky waterfall and lush greenery in the background.

Good afternoon Amber Cove.  Back to the ship for another mandatory glass of wine or something stronger.
