We departed Calgary around 1:00pm with our group, headed to Kananaskis. Jay, our tour guide, was narrating as we drove, telling us about Alberta and the many things we were are going to see and the places we are going to visit. Our final destination today is the Crosswaters at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge which was once part of the Olympic village for the 1988 XV Winter Olympics.
Here are a photo of the outside of the lodge and the next is of our room.
The next few are, first a path leading away from the lodge . . .
. . . and the next couple are of the view at the end of the path.
Here we are with this wonderful view in the distance.
It was truly exhilarating standing there, seeing the mountains in the background, stark and grey, against that blue, blue sky.
Dinner was at the Boundary Ranch . . .
. . . where we were greeted by two hombres and their horses.
As the sun dropped, the clouds turned a beautiful soft shade of orange.
Good night Kananaskis.
