It seems I’ve been busy doing lots of nothing although we did stop in San Francisco and Santa Barbara. I decided to make time to capture a few (a lot) of shots of this beautiful ship. So, today I am posting photos of the outside decks of the Discovery Princess.
The day was overcast and gloomy. I started on Sky deck (deck 18) with Center Court, a multipurpose court.
In the front (bow area) of Sky Deck is the Sanctuary; a private hideaway where for a fee you can reserve a lounge chair, or a cabana, and be pampered. Here are a couple of shots of the Sanctuary.
I must confess that I didn’t get everywhere on my journey of the outside decks. I missed the insides of the teen and youth areas. Moving down to Sun deck (deck 17), I was able to capture photos of the Retreat Pool and Bar.
Also on the Sun Deck is the Fitness Center. Although it is inside I decided to include it here. The Fitness Center is quite large and covers a great deal space. Here is just a sample of what it has to offer.
I also managed this picture of the Sky Pool on Lido Deck (deck 16). The screen for Movies Under the Stars dominates the skyline.
Once again moving inside on Lido Deck, here are a couple of pictures of the World Fresh Market Place, the buffet area for dining.
Through the Market Place to the stern of the ship we find the Wake View Pool opposite the Wake View Bar.
Also on Lido Deck is the Salty Dog Grill which is where you can get a hotdog or hamburger out on the deck.
For the most part, that covers the outside decks. They were all nicely done and spacious. Great places to lounge and get some sun. Later I will be posting photos of the inside areas, which are all really nice and enjoyable. See you soon.
