We rode over to Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum in the afternoon. It is an enormous building where his body remains in repose. He served as chairman of the Workers’ Party of Vietnam from 1951 until his death in 1969. The mausoleum was formally inaugurated in August 1975.

From there we walked over to the gardens next to and behind the mausoleum to visit the home where Ho Chi Minh lived out his life. It is well maintained and, where necessary, restored. Have a look at the garden.

This is a photo of the Presidential Palace but I believe he never lived here choosing to live in simple accommodations.

He lived in this simple stilt house for the last number of years of his life.

The first photo is his office and the second his bedroom.

Before living in the stilt house he resided here.

More to come from here. Look for the next blog post.

This must have been really something to see. So interesting.
