Angkor Wat, an Incredible Accomplishment, February 5, 2024

Angkor Wat is the largest, best preserved and most important temple complex in Cambodia.  We visited it on February 5th in the morning.  I found it very difficult to photograph but I did my best.  As you look at the photos notice the beautiful carvings that appear throughout the temple; carvings which are almost everywhere.  The temple is composed of grey stone and while you may think I took a black and white photo you could be mistaken, or could you?  Sometimes black and white is the perfect way to exhibit a photo.

Let’s start with a simple photo of a man on a raft, hard at work.  I really like this photo.

Our Cambodian temple guide, Rhet, was excellent.  He was knowledgeable, personable and did a great job.  Here he is preparing to lead us onward into Angkor Wat.

The temple took 37 years to complete. It’s hard to believe something so complex could be done in so little time. So let’s set off, in no particular order, on our expedition to Angkor Wat. Watch your step.

Our fellow adventurers taking a break.

Onward and upward.

Climbing to the summit was a challenge but we pulled it off.

It was a wonderful experience and a great visit. I hope you enjoyed what I have to offer as much as I enjoyed my visit.
