Our day started with a visit to the Independence Palace, also known as the Reunification Palace. It was the home and workplace of the President of the Republic of Vietnam and the site of the fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975.

The interior is quite lovely and functional. And now, a brief tour. Let’s start with the Minister’s Cabinet Room.

The Conference Hall.

A piece of artwork hanging on one of the walls depicting the history of the nation.

A meeting room; I’m not sure what room. Notice the panels on the back wall.

Here is a close up of a portion of it.

Where I can I will use signage from the palace to explain the rooms you are viewing. Let’s start with the National Security Council Chamber.

Another meeting room.

An unidentified room.

One of two bedrooms.

Then we were outside and I took these last two photos as we were leaving.
